“The influence of Frederic Chopin on the piano music that Alexander Scriabin composed up to Fin de Siede is evident. The program of the Italian pianist Daniela Roma is essentially dedicated to this repertoire. Although the forms used are analogous, Alexander Scriabin modified them in his own way. The two Impromptus are inclined towards vertical contemplation, i.e. imaginatively wandering. The 6 Preludes, on the other hand, do not follow a coherent style: While Daniela Roma perceives the first Allegro like a breath of air and also gives the other Allegri sensual attributes, the Andante already has a modern flavor. The first of the 12 Etudes has a fluffy melody, the Tempestoso has virtuoso rock power, and the Andante cantabile seems like thoughtful poetry. In the Allegro de Concert, however, DanielaRoma shows expansive gestures and a grandezza temperament. Only the fantasy from 1900 transcends romantic affinities, in that expressivity, variable, sometimes bass-heavy agogics and sharp dynamic contrasts are intended to indicate psychological turmoil or experimental ambitions. Daniela Roma is aware of these factors and takes into account a certain differentiation from the Scriabin personal style that is emerging here. In this respect, their representations are differentiated and convincing”.
